Language in Northern Cyprus
Turkish is the official language, but English is widely
spoken.
Driving in Northern Cyprus
Drive on the left. Traffic and road signs are international.
Car rental service is available in all major towns; price
varies with average £20 per day.
A British or international drive's license is required.
Currency in Northern Cyprus
The legal tender is Turkish
Lira. Foreign currencies are in use and easy to exchange.
Exchange rates change daily. Most shops are happy to accept
foreign currencies.
Visas in Northern Cyprus
All foreign country passports are recognized at the entrance
ports and airports of TRNC.
Visitors are issued with a
three-month visa.
To stay longer, an extension or residency permit should be
obtained.
Credit Cards in Northern Cyprus
Master Card, Visa Card, Euro Care Maestro Card are in use
almost anywhere in North Cyprus.
Banking hours for the public: 8:30 a.m. — 2:00 p.m. in
summer. On Mondays also open from 3:00-6:00 p.m.
